  • Description

The Copper Verdigris Victorian Arrow Weathervane is a beautiful piece that will easily make your roof look better. This beautiful and ornate weathervane is made of copper and has a verdigris finish. It also has a round ridge tile capping. It looks nice and the weathervane shows which way the wind is blowing when the Victorian arrow is turned by the wind

This weathervane stands an impressive 31.5 inches (80cm) tall and has a circular ridge base that is 12 inches (30cm) in diameter and 10 inches (24cm) tall. The standard colour for the ridge tile fitting is terracotta, but we also have a number of other colours and finishes to choose from.

Why add brackets to the installation process and make it harder? We know how important it is to keep your roof's structure in good shape. Installing our Victorian arrow weathervane is easy and doesn't take much time. The fitting, which looks like a round ridge tile capping, is easy to put on the roof using mortar in the way that has always been done. This makes sure the installation is safe and reliable and negates the need to drill holes or attach brackets to the roof or inside the roof space.

We also offer a mechanical fix method that uses a strong but flexible metal strap instead of mortar. The strap is easy to unwind and cut down to the size you want. With its series of holes, it can be securely attached to the roof structure with screws, nails, or any other method that works. Once the metal strap is in place, it can be hidden with traditional mortar, giving the wall a smooth, aesthetically pleasing look.

The Victorian arrow ridge weathervanes can be put on turrets, towers, flat roofs, round roofs, and circular roofs. In addition, they can be used as decorations in gardens, where they can add a touch of elegance and charm. No matter where you put it, installation is easy

Our decorative and ornate Copper Verdigris Victorian Arrow Weathervane is easy to put up and will make your roof look better. Enjoy the timeless beauty it brings, as well as the usefulness of its fully functional design.

  • How to fit and install

There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:

    Traditional mortar bedding:

Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.

Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:

For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.

    Dry fixing:

Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
