  • Description

    The double arch, 90 degree ridge base included with this copper verdigris motorbike weathervane adds a unique and decorative touch to any roof. The genuine copper verdigris adds to the charm, making it a one of a kind and eye catching addition to your roof. The motorbike atop it gracefully spins in the wind to point in the direction of the wind, serving as both an aesthetic and practical addition. Although terracotta is the default colour for ridge tile fittings, other colours and finishes are also available.

    Installers often worry about compromising the roof's waterproof integrity when they drill holes and attach brackets. This motorcycle themed weathervane, on the other hand, is a breeze to set up. The fitting, which has a double arch and a 90 degree ridge base, is easily installed because it is fixed in place with mortar using the same method as a standard ridge tile. The weathervane can be mechanically fixed in place using the included adjustable metal strap. This strap is strong and adaptable it can be trimmed to fit any need. With its versatile hole pattern, it can be nailed, screwed, or affixed to the roof in a variety of ways. The metal strap can be hidden during the standard mortar bed installation of the ridge base.

    Gable ends, hip ends, homes, cottages, sheds, workshops and even summer cabins are all suitable locations for these motorcycle ridge weathervanes. They can also be used as decorative accents in the garden. This weathervane is an excellent way to add flair and interest to your roof.

  • How to fit and install

    There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:

    Traditional mortar bedding:

    Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.

    Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:

    For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.

    Dry fixing:

    Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar.     APC Courier tracked and signed for delivery to England and Wales UK Mainland is included in the price for all products

    Delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. Sometimes if the delivery is local to our Workshop we may also opt to deliver using our own transport

    We make all products to order so there is a lead time associated for manufacturing, curing time and delivery. If you order multiples of the same product, need colour matched or special order items please allow extra lead time. If there are extreme weather events or other circumstances beyond our control this may affect the lead time

  • Product Performance & Quality

    The ridge tile is British Kitemarked, which is a certified industry standard for quality. All products are made in accordance with British Standard versions (BS EN 490: 2004 and BS EN 491: 2004). The ridge fitting is made from a concrete based mix reinforced with small fiberglass strands and additives, with several top coats applied to give its final appearance. The colour of the finial runs all the way through the piece resulting in a strong and long lasting product
