Fish weathervane on a ridge tile fitting with multiple angle options
- Description
Elevate your rooftop aesthetics with our versatile fish weathervane mounted on a specialised ridge tile fitting, offering a unique and hassle free installation solution for your home or garden. Crafted from durable steel, this weathervane not only serves as a functional weather indicator but also adds a captivating touch of artistry to your outdoor space. What sets this weathervane apart is its adaptability, as it accommodates various roof pitches by offering different ridge tile angle options, allowing customers to select the perfect fit for their specific roof type. Say goodbye to the need for conventional brackets and the concerns of compromising your roof's integrity.
The decision to use a ridge tile fitting over brackets is rooted in simplicity and peace of mind. Traditional bracket installations often require drilling and potential risks to the roof's waterproofing. Our ridge tile fitting installation, on the other hand, is a straightforward process, requiring only mortar to securely affix it to the roof structure. For added stability and versatility, our weathervane includes a concealed metal strap beneath the ridge tile fitting. This mechanical strap can be securely fastened with screws, nails, or integrated into the roof structure itself, offering multiple options for attachment. Once in place, the strap seamlessly disappears during the ridge base installation, hidden out of view by mortar, ensuring both security and aesthetic appeal.
With the ability to adapt to a wide range of roof types, our fish weathervane becomes a versatile addition to your home or garden. Beyond its functional purpose, it serves as an attractive ornamental feature, transforming your roof into a captivating showcase of design. Choose the perfect ridge tile angle, install effortlessly, and let your rooftop become a conversation piece with this captivating weathervane.

There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:
Traditional mortar bedding:
Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.
Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:
For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.
Dry fixing:
Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
