    Here's our beautiful and ornate Polished Copper Fish Weathervane, which was made to improve the look of your roof. This beautiful weathervane is made of high-quality polished copper. It will give your home a touch of elegance and charm.

    This fully functional weathervane is 26" (66cm) tall and has a beautifully detailed fish that turns gracefully with the wind to show the direction of the breeze. The fish is a real work of art, with intricate details that will make your roof look nice.

    We've made the half round ridge tile fitting easy to use so that the installation goes smoothly. This fitting, which is 10" (24cm) wide, 12" (30cm) long, and 8" (20.5cm) tall, goes well with the architecture of your roof. By using the old-fashioned mortar method, you can easily put this weathervane on your roof without having to drill holes or attach brackets that could weaken it.

    In addition to the fitting for the ridge tile, our weathervane comes with a useful metal strap for mechanical fixing. This strong, flexible strap is easy to cut to size and attach to your roof with screws, nails, or other fasteners. Once the strap is securely in place, it can be hidden out of sight while the ridge base is being put in place. This makes the whole thing look smooth and professional. This extra feature gives you peace of mind during the installation process and makes sure that the attachment will last.

  • How to fit and install

    There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:

    Traditional mortar bedding:

    Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.

    Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:

    For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.

    Dry fixing:

    Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.

    APC Courier tracked and signed for delivery to England and Wales UK Mainland is included in the price for all products

    Delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. Sometimes if the delivery is local to our Workshop we may also opt to deliver using our own transport

    When the order is ready we contact each customer to arrange a convenient delivery day

    We make all products to order so there is a lead time associated for manufacturing, curing time and delivery. If you order multiples of the same product, need colour matched or special order items please allow extra lead time. If there are extreme weather events or other circumstances beyond our control this may affect the lead time

  • Product Performance & Quality

    The ridge tile is British Kitemarked, which is a certified industry standard for quality. All products are made in accordance with British Standard versions (BS EN 490: 2004 and BS EN 491: 2004). The ridge fitting is made from a concrete based mix reinforced with small fiberglass strands and additives, with several top coats applied to give its final appearance. The colour of the finial runs all the way through the piece resulting in a strong and long lasting product
