Fairy weathervane on a ridge tile fitting with multiple angle options
- Description
Introducing our enchanting steel fairy weathervane, designed to add both functionality and beauty to the pinnacle of your home, and now featuring an innovative ridge tile fitting for effortless installation. Crafted from durable steel, this weathervane not only serves as a focal point but also as a functional piece, gracefully tracking the wind's direction as the fairy twirls in harmony with its rotation. While terracotta is the traditional choice for ridge tiles, we offer a diverse array of colours and styles to match your unique aesthetic vision.
But why opt for a ridge tile fitting instead of a conventional bracket?
Installers may be hesitant to drill holes or employ brackets that may compromise a roof's waterproof integrity. However, with our fairy themed weathervane, installation becomes a breeze. Our mortar compatible ridge tile fitting effortlessly attaches to your roof. For added stability and adaptability, we include a mechanical strap that discreetly nestles beneath the ridge tile fitting. This sturdy strap offers multiple attachment options, be it through screws, nails, or seamless integration into your roof's structure. Once affixed, this metal strap can be seamlessly concealed within the ridge base installation
Our fairy ridge weathervanes are exceptionally versatile and can grace the apex of a gable, the rooftop of any structure, be it a house, cottage, shed, workshop, or summer house. They can also function as an ornate garden feature in outdoor settings, offering you a remarkable opportunity to transform your roof into a captivating design element that will capture the attention of all who behold it. Choose functionality, elegance, and ease of installation with our steel fairy weathervane featuring the ridge tile fitting, a delightful addition to any home or garden.

There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:
Traditional mortar bedding:
Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.
Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:
For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.
Dry fixing:
Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
