  • Description

Elevate your rooftop's charm with our polished copper eagle weathervane, artfully affixed to a ridge tile fitting that offers versatile positioning at multiple angles. This exquisite copper weathervane not only enhances your roof's aesthetic appeal but also serves as a functional weather vane. With the eagle gracefully turning in response to the wind's direction, it elegantly indicates the prevailing breeze, adding both beauty and utility to your rooftop. While our standard ridge tile installation boasts a classic terracotta hue, we provide a diverse array of colour options to match your unique preferences.

Selecting this eagle weathervane with a ridge tile fitting offers significant advantages over conventional brackets. Roofers often prioritize preserving the roof's ability to repel rainwater, and this weathervane installation requires minimal effort and time. The ridge tile fitting securely attaches to the roof using mortar, ensuring a low hassle installation process. For enhanced stability and adaptability, an adjustable metal strap is included for mechanical fixation. This robust and flexible strap can be easily tailored to your requirements and features a grid of holes for secure attachment using screws, nails, or integration into your roof structure. During the ridge base installation, the metal strap can be concealed with traditional mortar, providing added support and peace of mind for installers.

Our eagle ridge weathervanes are incredibly versatile and suitable for a wide range of roofing structures, including gable ends, houses, buildings, cottages, sheds, workshops, summer cabins, and more. Additionally, these multifunctional weathervanes can serve as captivating garden ornaments, allowing you to infuse a unique touch into your outdoor space. Whether adorning your rooftop or garden, this weathervane is the perfect choice for adding a show stopping, one of a kind embellishment to your home.

  • How to fit and install

There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:

    Traditional mortar bedding:

Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.

Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:

For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.

    Dry fixing:

Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
