  • Description

    The elegant Steel Angler Weathervane is a striking addition that will make your roof look more attractive. This fancy weathervane has a steel angler that was carefully made to be a beautiful and unique decoration. Not only does it add a bit of charm, but it also works as a weathervane, turning gracefully in the wind to show which way the wind is blowing.

    One of the best things about this weathervane is how easy it is to put together. The Steel Angler Weathervane is easy to put up. You don't have to worry about drilling holes in the roof or putting brackets on the roof or inside the roof space. The weathervane comes with a round base that can be put on the roof using traditional mortar. This traditional method makes sure that installation is easy and doesn't cause any problems. As a mechanical fixing method, we also offer a strong and flexible metal strap. The strap is easy to unwind and cut to size, and it has a series of holes that make it possible to attach it to the roof structure with screws, nails, or other methods.

    Once the metal strap is securely fastened, installers can use traditional mortar bed to hide it, keeping the weathervane's decorative appeal. The Steel Angler Weathervane is flexible and can be put on many different types of roofs, such as turrets, towers, flat roofs, round roofs, and circular roofs. It can also be put on a garden structure to make a beautiful artistic display.     Ridge Base: The ridge base is round with a diameter of 12" (30cm) and a height of 10" (24cm).

    Please note that the standard colour for the ridge tile fitting is terracotta, but we also have other colours and finishes to choose from.

  • How to fit and install

    There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:

    Traditional mortar bedding:

    Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.

    Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:

    For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.

    Dry fixing:

    Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.

    APC Courier tracked and signed for delivery to England and Wales UK Mainland is included in the price for all products

    Delivery days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. Sometimes if the delivery is local to our Workshop we may also opt to deliver using our own transport

    When the order is ready we contact each customer to arrange a convenient delivery day

    We make all products to order so there is a lead time associated for manufacturing, curing time and delivery. If you order multiples of the same product, need colour matched or special order items please allow extra lead time. If there are extreme weather events or other circumstances beyond our control this may affect the lead time

  • Product Performance & Quality

    The ridge tile is British Kitemarked, which is a certified industry standard for quality. All products are made in accordance with British Standard versions (BS EN 490: 2004 and BS EN 491: 2004). The ridge fitting is made from a concrete based mix reinforced with small fiberglass strands and additives, with several top coats applied to give its final appearance. The colour of the finial runs all the way through the piece resulting in a strong and long lasting product
