Angel weathervane installed on a half round ridge
The beautiful Angel Weathervane is made of polished copper and was made especially for easy installation and decorative beauty. This beautiful weathervane will add a touch of charm to any building thanks to its decorative and ornate details. This fully functional weathervane is made of high-quality polished copper and has a graceful angel that turns with the wind to show the direction of the breeze.
This Angel Weathervane stands an impressive 32" (82cm) tall and is made to be put on a half-round ridge. The weathervane is built on a ridge base that is 10" (24cm) wide, 12" (30cm) long, and 8" (20.5cm) tall. This gives the weathervane a strong and stable base.
Why bother with complicated installations when this weathervane is so easy to put up? In contrast to traditional methods, which involve drilling holes and putting brackets in place, this Angel Weathervane is easy to put up. The fitting is a half-round ridge and is easy to put on the roof with traditional mortar. This makes for a smooth and easy fit.
The weathervane is easy to set up because it has a flexible metal strap that can be used to hold it in place. The strap can be unwound and cut to the right length so that the weathervane can be attached to different parts of the roof structure. With pre-drilled holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or otherwise held in place, giving the installer peace of mind. Since the base of the ridge is put in place with traditional mortar, the metal strap can be hidden out of sight, keeping the weathervane's good looks.
Use your imagination and show off the beauty of the Angel Weathervane not only on roofs but also as a garden ornament. This versatile weathervane is easy to install and can be used to decorate gable ends, hip ends, houses, cottages, sheds, workshops, and summer houses.
Choose the Angel Weathervane because it is easy to set up, has beautiful decorative features, and is well-made. This polished copper work of art will make your roof look better, and the angel will guide you in the wind with grace.
- How to fit and install
There are several ways to install roof finials, as outlined below:
Traditional mortar bedding:
Roof finials can be installed following the same method used for ridge tiles, utilising standard mortar bedding. In cases where the finial is tall or heavy, or if enhanced stability is desired, an additional mechanical fix method can be employed alongside the mortar bed installation.
Mechanical fixing strap and mortar bedding:
For this type of install, a galvanized metal strap is included, discreetly fastened to the underside of the finial ridge base during manufacturing. This durable and flexible metal strap can be adjusted in length by cutting it down to size. Featuring a series of holes, the strap can be screwed, nailed, or embedded in mortar to anchor it to a section of the roof structure. After securing the metal strap, installers can conceal it from sight by applying traditional mortar bed. The mortar used to join the finial with adjacent ridge tiles effectively conceals the strap, resulting in a seamless and neat appearance.
Another approach to affixing finials to the roof involves the dry fixing method. This technique involves using a specific manufacturer's dry fixing system, typically incorporating brackets or alternative mechanical fasteners to attach ridge tiles and finials to the roof without the use of mortar. If you are considering a dry fix ridge system, please get in touch with us to determine if this finial design can be adapted to be compatible with your chosen system.
